British War and Victory medal roll
This roll is very much worth looking at as it usually gives the battalions served in. The method of looking up is the same as in the 15 star roll except you look up under the files of the last regiment served in, as they were responsible for issueing the medals, even though they will be inscribed with the regiment the man went abroad first with. In Moon's case he was still with the E.Kent R so we looked up the book reference which was WO329/666. The roll is a book also and comes up quickly
The method is the same, you simply turn to the page number indicated , in Moon case p1856. There from L to right, is his service number, followed by rank and name, next the battalions served in, Moon only served in the 1st Battalion but if he moved around withing the regiment these would be recorded.
